I think it's his ring too. I think I have seen him wearing it in other pics. It firs for this movie and his character.
I love the way he is looking at Maria in these gifs. So dreamy like, he's just completely mesmerized by her.

Hahaha I think he probably was. Easy to get in character. That's probably a big reason they got the giggles so badly.

 I came across this bit of dialogue in Google Images, and was puzzled because I didn't recall it being in the film. But then I saw this photo, and assumed it must have been part of the deleted scene by the horse fountain; there is also a pic somewhere of Maria with them.  |
