A TSOM challenge?

OK, since I posted this, I probably should make a start. I won't do them all now though. I'm also going to try and think outside the box and not put down the OBVIOUS answer like favourite dance (Laender!! derr....)

9. Favourite Gretl moment - OK during the pre-Do Re Mi sequence when they are going around Salzburg, just before heading up the mountain on the train, they are all skipping along the lakeside and Gretl falls over. Classic moment!!

14. Favourite Friedrich moment. Just after Maria returns from the Abbey and she just finds out that the Captain is going to be married to the Baroness, Friedrich is standing there with the most stupid grin on his face (because he is happy that Maria is back). Maria is just devastated and Friedrich is just grinning like crazy, completely unaware of what is going on with Maria.

16. Favourite nun moment. When Maria has returned to the Abbey and has come to RM office and she questions Maria and she says "I can't face him again", and RM says "Him?" then proceeds to tell Sister Margaretta to leave, I love that bit as I've always thought Sister Margaretta would be saying to herself "Oh no!! I just want to stay and find out all the gossip about the mysterious Him!!" Well, being a nun, she probably didn't think that exactly... lol!!

OK since lemacd did such an awesome job before, I'm going to finish the rest of them (plus I'm bored too - only the tennis to watch)

2. Least favourite song - Struggling on that one... hmmm don't think I have a least favourite - probably didn't like Climb Every Mountain as a kid but I love it now

3. Favourite von Trapp child - I'm going to say Liesl (as I always wanted to be her when I was a kid)

4. Favourite Nun - Tie between Sister Berthe and Sister Margaretta

5. Favourite Captain von Trapp moment - Tie between "yes you are Captain... Frauline" and "I love you"

6. Favourite Maria moment - The look she gives Georg at the end of the Laendler just before she pulls away from him

7. Favourite behind-the-scenes photo - Julie dressed in the ugly grey dress with the sunflowers in her hair or Julie dressed in the wedding dress holding Emma's hand (yep, all about Julie)

8. Favourite promo shot - Laendler promos that I posted a while back

10. Favourite Marta moment - During My Favourite Things when she is singing along with Julie even though she "shouldn't" know the words - a blooper admitted by Debbie Turner later on.

11. Favourite Brigitta moment - The smile she gives as she sings "I'm glad to go, I cannot tell a lie" in So Long, Farewell

12. Favourite Kurt moment - "I wonder what grass tastes like" also watching him running like crazy out in front when they all get to the top of the mountain for the picnic.

13. Favourite Louisa moment - Running to greet Maria when she returns from the Abbey, almost knocking her over.

15. Favourite Liesl moment - I just used to love 16 going on 17 and the dress she wore in that so I'm just going to say that one.

17. Favourite Georg/Maria moment - well that one's obvious.... GAZEBO!!! (also like how G puts his arm around M, giving her a kiss on the cheek when he says that they have to leave Austria)

18. Favourite Baroness moment - The look she gives when she comes out into the courtyard to see M & G dancing the Laendler (what the??)

19. Favourite Max moment - The banter between Max and Elsa just before the row boat incident while Georg is inside looking for the children.

20. Favourite Rolf moment - Let's go with nice Rolf (i.e. 16 going on 17), although the fact that he doesn't shoot Georg is pretty good too!

21. Favourite dance sequence - I said I wasn't going to be obvious but who can't go past the Laendler?

22. Favourite Maria outfit - Wedding Dress

23. Favourite kids outfit - Totally ugly, but totally impressive making all those clothes out of curtains (and WHEN did Maria get the time to do it?)

24. Favourite Baroness outfit - Tie between the ball gown and the outfit she wears when she arrives at the villa when the row boat incident occurs (least favourite - purple dress when Maria returns)

25. Favourite room in the von Trapp mansion - Ballroom (but part of me wants to say Georg's room for some post honeymoon hanky panky between G & M!!)

26. Favourite line from the film - Too many, but as I've got quoted under my avatar "The sky was so blue and everything was so green and fragrant I just HAD to be a part of it!"

27. Favourite outside reference to TSOM - Julie and Carol at Carnegie Hall doing a parody to TSOM - obviously before the film but still gotta love it!

28. Favourite quote about the film from a participant - Not a quote but I guess (even though it is VERY repetitive), the helicopter story as told by JA

29. Favourite overall moment - one word.... GAZEBO!!

30. Least favourite overall moment - Never a huge fan of the Nazi chase at the end but really, is there a least favourite moment?? (I mean really??)

I didn't post it here because I thought it was easier to do it one question at a time, and over time some of the questions came up but I totally, totally could do this forever so yes, let's do it, and why not do it all at once, you zany girls! He has indeed said that, and I bet introducing CP was among his own career highlights. Seth is a total musical theater/movie geek, and that is what makes me such a fan of his (even though Family Guy and American Dad are a bit too gross sometimes) because he throws such random references into the shows. Gotta love a guy who loves TSOM.

Yes, he can. He's done some serious singing, too, some standards/cabaret stuff. He's great.

Because I agree with so many of the answers above, I'm just going to add a few additional favorites in most cases:

1. Favourite song - Do Re Mi, because of the choreography and videography.

5. Favourite Captain von Trapp moment - in addition to others mentioned, when he comes out of the house to find the children singing; the rowboat scene, the gloves, the way he pours himself a brandy after the puppet show and, in a way, the wink.
6. Favourite Maria moment - gulping before congratulating E&G on their engagement. The moment of hesitation before joining him in the Laendler. "They will look up to me and MIND ME." "I'm sure the Baroness will make things FINE for you." "I don't know, I don't KNOW!" Too many to choose!
7. Favourite behind-the-scenes photo - will look for it later, it's C&J working on the script for the rowboat scene
8. Favourite promo shot - also the Christmas shot, for pure silliness
9. Favourite Gretl moment the little exchange of glances between her and her father when she is being introduced to Maria - she is shy but also stubborn. Also the moment between her and Maria before she gives E the flowers.
10. Favourite Marta moment - what is the matter, Marta? Nothing.
11. Favourite Brigitta moment - when she saunters in reading the book; "your face is all red" The way she cuddles next to Maria on the terrace during DO Re Mi.

Love your answers!! I think I watched that moment after the puppet show at least 6 times last night!! Love it!!

and the truth is that everyone loves it.

Getting back to favourite nun moment about sister margaretta having to leave and miss all the gossip, have you ever noticed how HAPPY sister margaretta looks at the wedding? It is like "yep, I guessed who the 'him' was."

Another Max moment! During Edelweiss being sung as he looks between Maria and Elsa and Georg and Maria and Elsa and Maria.... Working it all out... It's all in the eyes!

(Ok, I'll shut up about the eye thing now - but seriously, it is all those little looks that just make the movie soooo awesome!)

It is all about the eyes, and that is one of my very favorite bits. Without a single word, you see M & G completely falling for one another; Elsa noticing them noticing each other; and Max noticing Elsa noticing them notice each other.

Simply fabulous.
