don't you just wish that some of those 'the americanization of emily' kissing/bedroom scenes w/ james garner had been brought to TSOM??? i'm sorry, but those were the best. not to be critical of the gazebo hotness, but seriously... james garner clearly knows what he is doing. like it's his freakin' job.

As I recall, on my 'Evening with Julie Andrews' she said she lost her onscreen virginity to him in AoE and then her manhood to him in Victor Victoria. She must have really loved working with him - cuz that sort of thing takes guts I would think

I like James Garner, too. I was a "Rockford Files" fan back in the 1970's, and the character he played in "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood" made me wish he could have been my dad!

You're welcome! Yes, it was. I'm going to check the website later though to see if Julie and Emma sat down with different hosts that appear later in the morning. Julie did that the last time she was on. I had to leave for work so I couldn't wait around to see if that happened.

I checked the Today Show's website and Julie and Emma did sit for another interview with hosts the show has on in the later hour. If part of the interview was about Julie as a mom when Emma was growing up, then it's the same one. :-)

My favorite part of that song - at least on the original Broadway recording - is when she sings, "the birds and bees with all of their vast amorous past..." and then she cries out, "gaze at the human race AGHAST!" I know I said that on FB before but I think it's just so adorable!

*sigh* What a treasure she is. Having not watched Julie sing Cinderella in quite a while, I just have to say how much her vocal technique is a) well-controlled, b) flawless, and c) utterly breathtaking. She just glides through the song, telling a story, and the words follow one right after the other like honey in some of the more pensive moments. Such talent.

Just watched an episode of Talking Pictures on Julie (I have no clue what this show is but it apparently aired yesterday in the UK), which featured some TV appearances of hers that I had never seen before. The interviews themselves didn't really provide any new information but I'm always content just watching appearances of hers that I've never seen before.
