Attachment Deleted Even the children have turned up to say goodbye! Attachment Deleted So long, farewell! And we stumble out into the sunshine in the courtyard. Look out for the car with more visitors! And it's out through the gates.

And we are out in the road again. Attachment Deleted But look! There is someone singing and dancing down the lane... Attachment Deleted She stops and looks around; she tells us she is a postulant at the Abbey, and is looking for the home of a Captain von Trapp. What do you think we ought to tell her?! - THE END -

That was fantastic! But I'm disappointed we didn't get to throw a PJ party in the Captain's bedroom :3

Love it. And speak for yourself, serialshippersince4e. I'm hiding in the Captain's wardrobe. Planning a party, but pajamas not necessary. Shhhh. Don't tell.

Oh, indigoblue. Oh, my. With all due respect to everyone else here, this may be my favorite thing ever - SO clever and funny (I am sitting in my office laughing maniacally) and creative. Even better than fanfic. I don't know if you're a God, but you're a genius. I got tired of hitting "like" every time, though. Thank you SO much for doing this.

Well, it's all for all of you!
It seems to have grown out of nowhere - initially, after I had done the floor plans, I thought they would be improved with a photo of each room in the corresponding place. Then I realised there were lots of juicy shots of one room from another, so decided I would see if I could get round the whole house from photo to photo, which I could, but in some pix there were pesky people in the way, so I decided to give them silly quips to sort of 'get rid of them'. But the further I went the further I realised I could take it - out onto the terrace, into the gardens, the gazebo, by the lake, until it took its finished form (6 months later!).
Glad you like it - there'd be no point in doing it without you (and I think I can live with being God, only don't let me become big-headed) x

The Captain just wears an inscrutable smile. (Oh, all right, girls, AND a suit and tie...CALM DOWN, Paula!) ROFL!!!! Okay, I deserved that!

Just wondering whether anyone has any good sightseeing photos of the Abbey? It would be fun to do a tour of that like the one above, but the images available are much more limited, and a lot of the filming took place on stages elsewhere. Any ideas?

There is a query from the thread 'Dinner Question' on the Story Discussion board about where all those guests at the ball dined; my thinking is that they ate in a large dining room through the door on the Captain's right in the screencap below (the one I chose in the Guided tour above just misses it).
You can also see the small family dining room off the sitting room when Maria leads Liesl through it before the reprise of 16/17:

Yes, thank you indigoblue, not only for answering the question about dining rooms, but for bringing this back so our newer members could enjoy it. I was thinking that I needed to do that, and you saved me the trouble!

That would make sense to me considering that it looks as if there are two dining chairs sitting out in the hallway. On another note, this whole thing is absolutely brilliant and so funny. What a very creative job.

Thank you all, I loved doing it, and it gives me great pleasure to hear you have enjoyed it too.
I am still planning to do a tour of the Abbey someday, but time just seems to run away from me everytime I think about it! Also, there are fewer images and lots of different people in them so I just think it will have to be more like a tourist tour rather than something madcap like the Tour of the Villa. Will keep you posted.

And just for completeness, I'll add the very last bit of the Villa which I discovered recently - the lobby inside the front door (which I never noticed before). Here is the lobby, seen at the beginning of the film - a plain recess between the stairs and the door. Here we see it again on G&M's return from honeymoon, only on the other side there is an elegant candlestick and cabinet and possibly a mirror. You also get a glimpse of the far end of the hall, where the ground floor doors open onto the terrace, and the upstairs doors open onto the balcony overlooking the lake, where G and Elsa broke off their engagement. For those who may be confused about the layout of the villa, here is a floor plan which appears in the thread 'Floor Plans of the Villa von Trapp' in Artworks, although it has sunk down some way and some of our new members may have missed it. The lobby isn't shown as I didn't know it was there when I drew it!
