Nice. And he's one of the only real men on that list. I'll give you Hugh Jackman and Patrick Swayze but the rest are, as Jimmy Fallon says, "ewww".

Interesting that he is one of only a handful of mature men that seem to have awakened young hearts; the rest are virtually prepubertal. I can still remember my awakening at the hands of Mr P - my eyes were on stalks!
In fact, is he the oldest there? Mmmm, still at it...at 84(?)!

That list is awful. At 85, CP can still wipe the floor with all of these young whipper snappers. *Sorry I am studying, hooped up on strong caffeine and grouchy right now*

oh he sure can whip them all off the board if you ask me... none reach him even the slightest... though there was some of my "teenage heartthrobs" in there... Dean Cain as Superman... oh my I was glued to the screen when ever they showed the superman series I think he was one of the movie/tvshow guys "who sparked my sexual awakening" though I did have a crush on Dicaprio in my late teens (when Titanic came out) Some of the other men in there are just eeeeeewwww.... gross and just plain weird that some think of them as hot..... o,O

That is too awesome. My little confession...........Captain von Trapp was my very first crush and I still get giddy while watching the movie. I just can't help myself. Some of those that were posted I never would have thought of. He's hands down the best one on that list.

Was looking through old posts and love these Laendler gifs, and I can't stop laughing at both tags on it, especially the first one.

How different do you think the way they danced the Laendler would have been if they had known they were alone?
Would they have launched into a passionate kiss at the end? (Even more embarrassing when Elsa rocked up...)

(Even more embarrassing when Elsa rocked up...) I think she might pull away because it's too overwhelming and too new for her, and she probably wouldn't even know how to react. But he might follow his instinct and hold her back if no one was around.....

As much as I wouldāve loved them to have kissed at the end, I think the laendler wouldāve gone the exact same way had they been alone. I donāt think either one of them is even aware of the children or Elsa in the canon dance anyway - theyāre so wrapped up in one another theyāve simply forgotten they have company. Itās only when Maria pulls away that the rest of the world suddenly comes back into focus. *sigh*
I think at the very end, Georg is on the cusp of leaning in to kiss her. You can practically see him fighting the urge. But then Maria pulls away and Brigitta steps in and suddenly reality hits and heās like āwoah.. what the hell just happened..ā
Maybe the only difference wouldāve been he wouldāve tried to talk to her about it afterwards and make sure sheās alright? Only, with Elsa and the children present, itās impossible.
Love this question, so many possibilities

Yes, if they had had a chance to talk then, even just a few words, they might have been able to avoid all those painful stand-offs (as in before dinner).
But then we wouldn't have a film!

I agree, I think she still would have pulled away simply because she was confused by what she was feeling for him. She was not at the point where she was willing to accept that she was actually in love with him.

Hmm, probably you guys are right, but I might be able to believe he'd give her a very brief, gentle but intense kiss (like the gazebo). But then the gazebo would not be as much fun!

Dahhhh.. a gentle but intense kiss at the end of the laendler. Iād love to have seen a scene like that. How might she have reacted do we think? Horror? Elation? Fear? Or would she have just given up the fight and melted into his embrace. *reaches for the fan*

It is Maria looking up at G when Brig calls her "mother", G winking back. The tags underneath are #this film is not for children #explicit sexual tension Brilliant. and so true...

I think a fanfic is just screaming to be written with this idea of a kiss after the Laendler.

I think a fanfic is just screaming to be written with this idea of a kiss after the Laendler. SPOILER ALERT yes, or if you just can't get over the realism problem (all those children standing around) it could end with the narrator waking up and discovering it was a dream.

SPOILER ALERT yes, or if you just can't get over the realism problem (all those children standing around) it could end with the narrator waking up and discovering it was a dream. Or she would swoon after the kiss (I probably would if I were she) and wake up in a new situation....for example she has been sent back to the abbey, or she has gone back to Vienna, or he has run away from her...and the new problem might simply replace the old one.

Look at that screencap, even the horse has gone wild at the sight of him!
(Sorry, we established they are mythical Hippocampi a while back, half-horse, half-fish, only I reckon Mr Plummer is pretty mythical too)

Yes, he's watching his children wearing drapes with Maria on the boat. And you still want to get closed to him even you know he would be very mad the next minute.

this picture also relates to the "eyes" thread I just read - although it's not pure anger, there's something else mixed in.
