Thanks for posting this! I haven't see this one before, and I was trying to read the board to see where he wore this outfit:
Ext von Trapp villa (?when escaping)- certainly wore a hat (how can we forget?!) ? Int abbey (?escaping form Nazis)- so was this what he wore on stage at the concert and afterwards at the Abbey ?

Yes, that lists the scenes---pushing the car, at the Riding School (festival location),entering the Abbey, and in the graveyard when he made Rolf wet his pants.

I have to say that, although he looks a bit of a Charlie here, Mr P manages by some wonderful talent he has to look just so darn cool in the same outfit on celluloid!

BTW he is still wearing that hat when he's hoisting Gretl over the mountains at the end. And here are more, to get you started (I am admittedly being silly here)

Oops, must be a English phrase...it means he looks a bit silly! Just looked up where it comes from, but it's not listed: maybe it refers to Charlie Chaplin??

I'm supposed to be doing a long-winded job application - but stuff it, I'll do a long-winded CP post...Just a couple of screen shots from films I have sitting on my computer. I apologise for the quality, but I couldn't get him to stop moving to make the captain...that's enough procrastination for now...
Battle of Britain - 1969 (with Michael Caine)
Conduct Unbecoming - 1975 (with the legendary Richard Attenborough)
As the infamous Erwin Rommel in Night of the Generals - 1966 (did this in between making Triple Cross)
Duke Wellington - Waterloo - 1970
As Colonel Herbert Kappler in Scarlet and the Black - 1983 (geez he played a lot of military men)

Always loved a man in uniform... And honestly, he is just made to wear them. So regal and commanding.

Yes, and it's ironic that although he is not in true uniform in TSOM, the 'trachten' suits he wears still have that military cut with the lapels and decorations (apparently beloved by supporters of the old Austro-Hungarian Empire which ceased in 1916).

I finally have The Day that Shook the World on DVD. Even CP in a feather hat looks pretty good.
Don't even get me started on the gorgeous bedroom scene. As Sophie and 'Ferdie' there are many similarities to Georg and Maria. The chemistry between CP and his leading lady (Florinda Bolkan - ha! the irony of her surname..)as Sophie is simply palpable.
Will get some hat screen shots once my computer has recharged (I don't have a DVD player on my PC).

These are for The Day that Shook the World (1975). Whoever transferred the master copy to DVD did a bloody awful job...but hope these are okay...
