oh, i love mandy patinkin. i saw him perform in schenectady, NY when i lived there and got to go back stage and meet him. Just re-reading through this thread and i saw this. So jealous!! |

We have this CD that I got for Christmas and a version of "Maria" from West Side Story is on it and every time I hear it I think it should be posted here (and it probably has been already) but to my surprise, no one has ever posted it (well not that I could see anyway).

I know there are many version out there but I do love Michael Ball.

so I'm on a roll here.
I love this song (and of course the musical which it's from "Jekyll and Hyde") and I'm totally in love with Anthony Warlow (an Australian musical theatre guy - I'm so totally pumped to be seeing him again in June)
Whenever I hear this song, I think of Georg standing on the balcony just after Elsa has gone, just about to go and find Maria at the gazebo.

I have to admit I was a bit hesitant at first putting it up since the song is really about Dr Jekyll about to use himself in a science experiment and ends up as Mr Hyde (lol!) but if you take that bit out of the equation, it is perfect!!! (And Anthony Warlow is to die for!! Does anyone else know him besides me?) |

Okay, I've been watching Saving Mr. Banks A LOT recently and I realised that a lot of the words in this song could apply to M&G. Obviously certain things (mainly Bert's part) are completely irrelevant but others fit perfectly.

I absolutely love this!! "Saving Mr. Banks" became an instant favorite the moment I saw it and I agree that this song fits Maria and Georg. The film makers used it quite beautifully in "SMB"

Okay finally dawned on me WHY I seem to love those country songs that have recently been posted here.... one in another thread : "I Don't Dance" by Lee Brice, (in the Just for laughs section; "You know you've watched TSOM too many times...." ) and this last one in this thread (his voice is great too, and kinda "country" like too....!!!!) This song in the video is me and my hubby's SONG.... I honestly don't remember where or how I first heard the song, but it kinda struck me as a song fitting for our relationship... and at our wedding we had someone sing it in church... Could apply to our favorite couple as well... (just saw the video for the first time...... can't imagine why I never searched for it on youtube... but had in on my phone and listened to it ALWAYS....  ) BTW: it's our 7th year anniversary this Monday (June 30th. ) |

This song is played in the radio a lot these days... EVERY time i hear it (when I drive my car, that's the only time I listen to the radio ) I think of G&M... the lyrics are oh so WOW and wonderful romantic... makes my heart cry EVERY time... |
