Are there any fics touching on the topic of Maria's letter? It would be interesting to see people's take on what it says.

Well, I feel very self-conscious suggesting one of my own stories, but anyway... Cough! My one-shot "Coming Home" deals with the aftermath of the party scene and what could have happened if Georg had found Maria's letter sooner than expected. You can find it on ff.net. <blush!>

I think (I could be wrong) yours is one of the only ones I've read that touches the topic.

I definitely agree with everyone on this thread that more gazebo/kissing/wedding shots would be great, as would more shots regarding the note, Maria's return, and the engagement announcement.
I was trying to think of other scenes today, and ended up wanting a conversation with Georg and Max alone. There are many fanfics that have fabulous conversations between these two regarding Georg's feelings about Elsa and Maria. It would be an interesting bit to dissect and analyze.

Yes to all of the above!
But also more of Georg talking to Maria, trying to find out what makes her tick (or Maria trying to find out what makes Georg tick) - we really have surprisingly little of them talking alone at all, until it gets to the gazebo.

Oh, can you imagine if there was a scene of the two of them in his study discussing the children and then wandering off to other topics? We would have every millisecond over analyzed.
You are right, we really have very little actual conversation between them to go on, especially post Apology. Good thing we have all of the delicious looks between them to sustain us.
