Well, it took a while, but I have advanced and finally watched On Golden Pond. I obviously had watched the Hepburn version of it, and while the TV version is ok, it’s somehow just not it. But I’m happy they made this anyway!
(For whoever hasn’t watched it yet.)

There are some other posts on OGP somewhere, but I can't find them at present...uncanny how this strikes me as Maria and Georg 50 years on -
PS: Found some references to OGP in Movie Observations/Kissing in posts made around 2017 for your enjoyment.

I can see where you’re coming from. Except for: The Captain wouldn’t be as morose. Nor did he ever put his kids down like Norman does.
But they’d definitely go berry picking down the road and watch the loons!

We finally get to hear Julie tell him that she loves him! I've been waiting so long for that!
I love how affectionate they are with each other. It's adorable. And looks very natural, as I would expect.

Can you think of any other real-life relationships between actors where they could be so 'genuine' with each other? ie, when they say they love each other, they do (in a way)?

Some long time television series actors/actresses probably come to actually love one another after years of working together. Though, I'd imagine that this is often more of a sibling kind of love than a romantic one.
CP and JA seem to genuinely like (love?) each other and this closeness spans for decades whether they are working together or not. I think that is rare. And lovely.
