I often wonder...CP complained about his role in TSOM, found it boring, tried to resign but was threatened with a lawsuit etc. All these other movies in which he participated, and were not a smashing hit as TSOM, were so interesting for him? I mean if he had played in huge hit movies before and after, ok, I could understand his point. BUT he never played in such a successful movie and yet he murmured all the time against it...

I think he said somewhere that in midlife, he suddenly realised that nice houses have big outgoings, so he found he had to keep the money coming in: hence quite a lot of less-than-serious movies. Ones that spring to mind are 'Secrets' (?by Barbara Taylor Bradford) and an advert for a camera which went on for ages - good if you like CP, though!
