Good clips! I found this other interview with CP from 2012, where he is a little more expansive about TSOM than usual. It's interesting to compare his views 40 years on (from around 2:50) www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMvBtiJ_Ucc

The whole time Robert Wise was talking, I was like, “CHRIS, TURN AROUND!!!” because he looks amazing in that scene. It’s interesting how different he looked in his interview. He is such a chameleon - he looks like a different man all the time. But, yes, he looked good, and so did Julie, and I don’t know how she resisted him!

Oh, CP, if only you knew...

I was watching National Treasure with my kids last weekend, which has a small scene with CP in the beginning where he is older like he is in this clip. He still has such a lovely voice and such graceful mannerisms.

Sounds a bit like Mr Rochester's mad wife in Jane Eyre! (Grace?)
Pertinent, as in his pre-filming letter to Robt Wise the director, CP said he thought the Captain and Maria ought to have a tense sort of relationship like that in Charlotte Bronte's book. Which they did.

Oh my goodness, they are adorable!!!! Like an old married couple. He glances down often, I can't figure out if he is a little at loss for words or if he is checking out her backside.

Her backside for sure - just as he does in the Laendler.

Also after the puppet show, when they go out in the hall and Georg leans back against the closed door to get a view for himself.
