Would you guys be interested in doing another advent calendar this year? I really like this tradition and I hope that we can do it this year, especially since we couldn't get enough people to join last year. For the newer members, here is the link to the original advent calendar thread so you know what to expect. advent calendar 2016

Definitely yes!
By chance, I have a short snippet of a story which I am still revising, which I could offer if desired. Let me know if it is needed- not specifically Christmassy, but it should warm the cockles of a few hearts...
I really enjoy the jigsaws of SOM pictures: I could try to find a few photos for this (although I don't know how to do the jigsaw bit), but am mindful that we are close to full capacity with attachments. Maybe we should contact the moderator, Augiesannie, to know the state of play?

Storage is a problem, but we could manage it in the short run so long as people know that I might have to take their posts down. I have been intending to start a dropbox but this kind of thing doesn’t come easy to me and I haven’t made the time. I would probably share a snippet of the story I’ve just begun. Thanks @crispapplestrudels !

When you're ready, you can PM me, and I'll give you my email so you can send me what you'll be submitting. We currently have 6 participants (including myself) so I will probably just make a calendar for the week leading up to December 25. I would like to ask that everyone sends me their work by December 10 so that I have enough time to organize everything. Feel free to pm me with any questions. Looking forward to seeing what you guys make!

That's completely ok with me! My only requirement is that you get it in by the due date (December 10) and that whatever you're contributing is TSOM-related. Thanks for asking.

Hi, I have found some photos of SOM people which I believe are new to this forum, and which might be useful for jigsaws, puzzles etc in the Advent calendar. Also a short (non-Christmassy) story is on offer if you have the space. Just thought I'd let you know!

Just a friendly reminder that you have two weeks from tomorrow to submit your contribution for the calendar. So far, I have received submissions from itsdayandnight and indigoblue. Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy, and happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it!

I have not received contributions from augiesannie , ANeedlePullingThread and scullypout - if your name is here, please pm me so I can give you my email. If you can't get your contribution in by then, just pm me and I can do some shuffling. Thanks everyone!

Hi @crispapplestrudels. Is it too late for me to join this? I know I'm not past the Dec 10 deadline, but since I never responded initially, I'm thinking you might have all of the days accounted for already. If so, no biggie, I can always just post it somewhere else on this forum. I didn't think I was going to have anything to contribute until today. I have fanfiction going on in my head all the time, but I never write it down. I had an idea or a Christmas story, and it just poured out of me today. It is over 3000 words. Is this too long for a calendar entry?
On a side note, stories are always so lovely in my own head, but I have quickly realized that it is really hard to express that loveliness in actual words. I was going to blame it on having been a REALLY long time since I was in college. Though, I can't even use that excuse since I didn't have to take writing in college because my lab reports were so involved that they counted as my writing requirements. Seeing how there is very little data analysis/lab reporting involved in fanfiction, this story might end up sounding like a 10 year old wrote it. I apologize in advance. LOL.

There is one week until Christmas, so without further ado, here is the link to the calendar: Advent Calendar
All the doors should be working – I tried them on Safari, Edge and Chrome and they all worked. The doors should open at midnight in your time zone. Enjoy!

Crispapplestrudels, I am really enjoying your Advent Calendar, but am having difficulty seeing the puzzle in No.3. It says I need a password or similar from you. Any suggestions?!
Thanks -

Ahh, sorry to miss this but happy to enjoy the result of your hard work. Thanks for putting this together, crispapplestrudels!
Indigo, just read your wonderful story! Always love reading your work - there’s a quietness to it and yet it’s really such a pivotal moment. I do like Georg’s agency in this version!

Crispapplestrudels, I am really enjoying your Advent Calendar, but am having difficulty seeing the puzzle in No.3. It says I need a password or similar from you. That's odd... I am away from my computer at the moment but will try to fix it tomorrow. Is the website that the puzzle is on that is having an issue or is it the calendar itself?

If I click on the link, then I get to the JS Puzzles site, but I get an Error message saying that it is a private puzzle and I need to get a password from the author.
But please don't spend hours on it, because the rest of your Advent Calendar has been fun and I managed to read Augiesannie's lovely excerpt!

Really enjoyed all of these!! reverendcaptain - wonderful piece! So soft with wonderful imagery and I loved how the sequence unfolded so naturally between them! augiesannie - the moment where G steps in and he KNOWS M’s hand will slip into his and it does and OMG, I squealed out loud. I did not know the landler scene could want for more, but this really was perfection.

HOORAY! Thank you so much @crispapplestrudels for the gift of our Advent Calendar! I loved every single entry. (Anyone who can get indigoblue to write something is a hero in my book). While I hate to signal anyone out, I have to give an extra-big virtual hug to reverendcaptain for a fabulous first story. I don’t think we get enough of Georg’s state of mind before he declares his feelings to Maria, and also I loved the repurposing of Reverend Mother’s lines. I enjoyed every image, puzzle and video and I hope people liked my excerpt - someday it will reappear as part of a long story I’ve been forming in my head. Happy holidays to all!

Look at him reaching out for her hand unseen afraid she might just take it, but more afraid she might not. It's such a small moment in such an epic film, but like both of them to each other, it's hard not to fall in love."

It's such a tremulous moment too, because just a second ago we see him against the backdrop of his grand and glorious party, so self-assured, adjusting his gloves, practically with a smirk on his face. And then we see just the two of them, who he is hanging in the moment depending on what she does... swoon.

Well done! augiesannie The Laendler is my favorite scene! I'm so glad that they are finishing their dance. I can't wait to read more!
