What's Spain like? I live in the U.S., and lately I've been looking for an escape. You just take one look at our news, and things are just an absolute disaster here.

Yep, I'm from Spain. Madrid, to be exact. What's Spain like? I live in the U.S., and lately I've been looking for an escape. You just take one look at our news, and things are just an absolute disaster here. Spain's like a mini-continent unto itself. You've got the best beaches if you're looking for sun and relaxation, the best mountains if your thing is rural tourism (don't forget the Way of Saint James.) Aside that, considering Spain's three millennia of history, you've got archeological sites and museums galore to learn about our Iberian, Tarsessos, Greek, Roman and Muslim pasts. Heck, you can even learn from our Homo Antecessor and Neanderthal pasts in Atapuerca's site&museum in Burgos.
In Madrid, you can see some of the best paintings in the world at El Prado, and walk through some of the largest parks, like El Retiro and La Casa de Campo, which is about five times the size of New York's Central Park.
And don't get me started on Spanish food.
Ooooh, and Madrid's got a very intimate connection with The Sound of Music, as Christopher Plummer lived here for a couple years in Jorge Juan street, the one behind Serrano (in his own words.)
I just hope this world-wrecking pandemic is put behind us soon, so we can get back our lives, although nothing will ever really be the same again.

OH, I see. That makes a lot of sense, now that you say it.

Wow. What a great picture! Do you think he is going in for a kiss here, or pulling back from one?

I think he is going in for the kiss because afterwards, when he pulls away, it is she who has her eyes closed.
It would be normal for him to close his eyes just as their lips touch, while she watches in disbelief...

I was looking at this picture (again), and it struck me how trusting her posture is. It is very vulnerable to be leaning against a wall with your hands behind your back while letting someone touch you.
Or maybe she is grabbing the edge of the wall for support so that she doesn't fall over from him looking at her like this!

Hey Sandra,im from Madrid too, it's so cool to find "plummeresque fellows" if you all allow me to say that LOL I was very excited when I heard Chris in that same tweet talking about Madrid and I love how, despite the years that have obviously passed, he remembered the city perfectly!

Missisa, you may be able to tag Sandra to attract her attention here by putting a space between her name and the comma after it. Then her name should come up in blue, which will appear on her Profile/Notifications when she next visits.

He was suppoused to be in Madrid in this one, so it's very special to me (i'm from Madrid too!) and it seems to be impossible to find. I know I've asked the same thing in another thread but I can't help it.
