So, this is more of a random thought at the moment, but it can also stand as an actual prompt. Hence, why I am posting it here in Writing Prompts.
It isn't really based on TSOM per say, but more based on Die Familie Trapp. It is when Maria comes back from her talk with Reverend Mother and Georg meets her at the door. It's kind of sort of an AU to the Gazebo scene. It's more of an in-depth look into that particular scene. So after Maria gets back from the Abbey and meets Georg at the door, they go into his study and have a heart-to-heart conversation about what their future will look like, Maria's concerns (for example, her being young-ish, semi-innocent, and somewhat naive and not knowing much of life outside of the Abbey), and what the children might think.
I want to sort of delve deep into the scene and sort of explore what happens after that moment in the film. I was thinking it would be kind of cool to explore the concerns, hopes, and wishes they have for their future, including their inevitable escape from Austria. Also, I find myself fascinated with the film, even though I can barely understand German.
This is where your opinions come into play. Do any of you think that this is a fanfic worthy prompt? If you do, feel free to use it.
Side Note: If this seems like it should be in a different thread, let me know and I will put it into a different one.

I love this "prompt" Silver-White-Winters, (and it's fine with me to have it here!). I don't remember the scene very well - I thought they embraced and the children cheered and the next thing you knew it was the wedding - so I will have to go find it but then I'll be back!!

I always love stories where G&M have a heart to heart and tell each other how they feel!!! I'm not much of a writer, so I won't take it on, but I'd love to read the story if someone else does.

I love stories like that as well. I was talking to bloomandgrow on FF Net, about this particular scene and how underrated it is. I think that I might take this as my next TSOM project. After My Maria is updated, of course (which I am aiming to post in the next couple days). I just feel like this scene needs deeper look into it. Why, I couldn't tell you.

It's an interesting challenge, because I don't see Georg as someone who talks about his feelings very easily (although if anyone could bring it out in him, it would be Maria).

I have observed, mainly with my brothers, dad, uncles and grandpas, that the more... I don't want to use the terms manly or macho, but the more "harder" of a shell they have on the outside, the more "softer" they are on the inside and more willing to share/show their sensitive sides and talk about their feelings/thoughts with the right person. I call it the "Teddy Bear Complex". They put on this front of being tough and strong, but they have a really soft, caring demeanor on the inside. I think that I shall take this on as my next TSOM project (after MM is finished). Would the title of "The Teddy Bear Complex" be fitting for a story such as this? Would it be considered a character study because it sort of explores everyone's emotions, thoughts, and feelings? Thoughts and/or opinions on this?

The Teddy Bear Complex is a good title!
I love when Georg shows his softer side with Maria. It shows how much he trusts her to let down his facade.
Can't wait for the story!

I have yet to start writing this because I still am trying to perfect this last chapter of My Maria (there will be a epilogue at some point in the future).
Maria's naivety and the concerns of what society thinks and the Anschluss aside, what else do you think Maria and Georg would talk about? I am curious as to what you guys think should be included in a conversation this important. Also, my muse for this prompt is in deep thinking mode.

probably what kind of wedding. maybe the "when did you know?" conversation. maybe an awkward conversation about how this is his second marriage, what it is like to love two wives. maybe about whether they will have more children (of course!) but I think mostly about the Anschluss as you said. (in the movie version that is. They were married ten years before the Anschluss IRL).

Hey y'all! I've recently come out of hidey hole and started to write again! I am currently trying to work on the fic that's based off of a scene from the 1956 film.
I have had a busy few months recently, which is why I have been mute on here. During the few momths my writers block started to very slowly disappear. Anyway. I am working towards having it posted soon, but I am not sure how soon that will be.
I am thrilled to be back! ❤️
