I don't know if you'll be interested with this but I want to share this. well, This is the Anime version of The Sound of Music which was released by 1991. Actually, This is the reason why I fell in love with the movie. It has 40 episodes. The real names of the children are used there but in a different order. The story of the series was really based on the book of Maria (The Story of the Trapp Family Singers) unlike the movie that they put changes. Some of the episodes were fictional but still has a connection with the story to make it connected. They even put the childhood story of Maria and more. I'm sure you'll like or love it as am I. The Songs used are also the same with "Die Trapp Familie", The original TSOM. Some of the scenes may be familiar to you coz it was similar on the film or It was on my Fanfic. hehehe  Try to watch! Click Here for the full series  The language is Japanese but there is an English subtitle so don't worry. I hope you like it!  This is the original Opening theme of the series. and it's awesome. |

thank you so much for posting the link!!! i used to live in japan and watched a lot of anime while i was there... i found it easier to follow the japanese in anime than in other programs. i miss hearing it!!! i taught at a kindergarten and the do-re-mi song was played a lot during the exercise time. you brought back so many memories for me!!

i watched episode one and it was so fun... this version of maria is so interesting. i kept wondering how the nuns didn't tie her down to keep out of trouble! this will have to be my late night guilty pleasure.

I'm sure you'll have a great time. Enjoy! And yes, You'll get a hard time laughing to Maria of the story. She's a bit different to Julie in a way that She's more funny like a teen. You'll love her so much. |

yes, she is very child like which is adorable except well... there is the love story part so i keep thinking about how that will be like. i watched episode two last night. well, most of it until my computer froze.

You can watch the wedding episode if you want but it still better if you watched from the start. You might get confused with some sort of... the sequences of the story. There are some good episodes in the start and middle part of the series. |

well, I didn't cheat THAT much. I did watch some of what comes earlier, and I must say, it's just like really good fanfic, lots of interesting detail and slightly AU inventions. I'm SO SO glad you shared it Louisa!

Yes, Baroness Matilda is the villain in there. hahaha. But I like her character even though I always get annoyed with her for being the antagonist. joke  She's one of the highlights of the story. You'll laugh at her in some episodes. btw, I want to share the trailer I made for the series but I can't attach it. too bad, but I'll find another way to share it with you guys. |

additional information about this series is that Johannes von Trapp, the youngest on the children is one of the "Planning Support". well, maybe some part of the story in the series came from him. |

I'm tempted to say that I found it in a rare book about TSOM that only I own. But yes, I made it up. (Is that OK? I mean, isn't one of the words in our name FICS?) I do always think it's funny that Maria is obviously pretty slender and not too big anywhere, but in lots of fanfics, she becomes miraculously well endowed as soon as her clothes come off. I think I have a line somewhere in my notes where he thinks to himself that she has managed to keep her "lush" figure hidden in those homemade clothes, that must have been what got me started!

LOL totally ok. I thought you were joking but since you have more knowledge than me I wasn't sure. EP 9 (I think) has princess Yvonne meet Maria and she looks her up and down. It just seemed that the girl in boy clothes from the first episode suddenly grew some. I find it funny too that she is often written to be curvy. Now Elsa. She had them. And the 2 pack a day voice to match. If your into that.
