do you try to put the link to youtube with the 'insert video' (looks like a little movie clip board/slate thingy)? that will put the video right in the message.

I tried to do that, and when I wanted to create and later edit the post I do see the video. It just doesn't show in the actual post...

My pleasure lemacd. I love this version you found. i've never heard it before. Totally sensational!! So one of the recommended links in that above video was a link to a song found on Julie's rarest album, Love me Tender (which I have). I love this song anyway "When I Dream" but I thought it suited being in Maria's playlist as well.

'Cause all I know is we said hello
And your eyes look like coming home
All I know is a simple name, everything has changed
All I know is you held the door
You'll be mine and I'll be yours
All I know since yesterday is everything has changed
Come back and tell me why
I'm feeling like I've missed you all this time
And meet me there tonight
And let me know that it's not all in my mind

Let your addiction flow! It's beautiful!
The best part of these songs is that they make me listen more to the lyrics.

As a big fan of "classic" country music and especially Lynn Anderson, I just have to add this early 1970's hit from Lynn - "You're My Man." I think this describes our favorite couple! You're My Man - Lynn Anderson

The soundtrack from "Camelot" is currently at the top of my go-to Julie playlist and I think this song www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBwfD9Qipqs would be one Maria could offer to Georg as a subtle - or not so subtle - hint. :-)

I know other people have sung this but I always associate this song with Judy Garland (totally love her!)
"You go to my head You linger like a haunting refrain And I find you spinning round In my brain Like the bubbles in a glass of champagne You go to my head"
Just another line that completely "got me" today when I was listening to this song and I am so going to use something like this in a fic coming up: "You intoxicate my soul with your eyes!" Talk about swoon-ilicous!!!

And if our man doesn't have intoxicating eyes, I can't imagine who would.

I don't usually have a lot to add to these playlists, but in preparation for the prompt, this came to mind: I'll explain more about it when I post in the prompts section later.

Another one I wanted to share in preparation for thinking about prompts. As I think she explains here, this was originally written for My Fair Lady and then repurposed for Gigi.

1990's Alison Krauss albums are just nailing it.

I was listening to Liszt's Liebesträume tonight and realized they could kind of fit in with three stages of Maria's life: postulancy, wedding/honeymoon, and, well, ever after. For those of you unfamiliar, there are three Liebesträume, the third one being the one everyone knows. All three were inspired by poems and each is about a different kind of love. Here's a short explanation, and you can find translations of the poems online pretty easily.

I'm certainly giving away my age here when I mention this one. Those of you who are old enough probably remember a singer named Mary MacGregor from the mid to late 1970's, particularly her huge hit song "Torn Between Two Lovers" in 1976. (That's the year I started listening to country music - I was 12 - and that song got a lot of airplay on country radio as well as on rock/pop.) She also had a big hit in 1978 with "Wedding Song (There Is Love)."
Her follow-up to "Torn Between Two Lovers" wasn't as big a hit, but I do recall seeing her sing it on a TV show back around that time (1976-77), and it got a bit of radio airplay. It's called "This Girl (Has Turned Into A Woman)," and for some reason, I started remembering it this week. Except for a couple of lines, I think it's PERFECT for Maria after her wedding night!
The lyrics shown in the video aren't quite correct in a few spots. Here they are:
Wake up, the morning's over. The bed is soft and warm where we lay. I've dreamed the whole night through Of how I'll say to you All the things my heart wants to say.
Last night you heard me crying 'Cause I had never loved a man before. And I guess the tears were falling 'Cause the little girl was lost, But now, love, I'm not crying anymore.
This girl has turned into a woman, And I've dreamed of this moment all my life. This girl has turned into a woman, And I thank you for your tenderness last night.
I'd never seen your head lying on my pillow. I'd never seen your body without clothes. I can't believe these feelings I've discovered, Though I'm sure it's just what every lover knows.
Now I won't cling to you or make you promise, And if love's gone tomorrow, don't pretend. But right now I'm in love, And that's all I'm thinking of, And I hope this feeling never ever ends.
This girl has turned into a woman, And I've dreamed of this moment all my life. This girl has turned into a woman, And I thank you for your tenderness last night. And I want to love you once again tonight.
Obviously, the lines "Now I won't cling to you or make you promise, and if love's gone tomorrow, don't pretend," don't fit for a married couple, but without those lines, I think this is a beautiful song that might express what a new bride would feel after her wedding night.
I don't know why I started remembering this song (yes, I was listening to this when I was 12-13 years old! LOL!), but it sure makes me think of Maria's thoughts on "the morning after."
