Baroness Schraeder packed her little bags, returned to Vienna (where she belongs) and drowned her sorrows in ice cream. Now she has to work off the extra pounds so she can fit into the ballgown. easier to burn calories to music.
... yeah, she's not bitter at all.

Oh, the title of this just makes me giggle. I can't wait to shop around for some to put here. For right now, and in honor of her next role as Maria, I present Ms. Carrie Underwood

watching the olympic ice skating made me remember this song (my only foray into acting was my high school production of 'cabaret' as frau schneider) and thought it would be a fine empowerment song for our spurned baroness. after all, she left by making it her idea to begin with. it is a bit on the overt sexy side, so... hide your children before hitting play.

ROFL!!
I think there are a lot of mental images going on here - not sure whether they are good or not. Maria in that getup for Georg.... Maybe? But probably not singing that song. We'll have to find another one for that!

maybe i need to help you reset the way of thinking about this; this is the act max (emcee) and elsa (sally) take on the road after losing everything during the war. she did not share G's feeling about uh, performing in public...
war is hell.

I was listening to this song today in the car as I'm also a huge Judy Garland fan (my top 3 singers of all time for me are of course: Julie, Judy Garland and Sarah Brightman - my ambition in life is to acquire everything they have ever sung, and I have pretty much done it!!)
Anyway, I thought this song "The Man Who Got Away" (from A Star is Born) was an appropriate one for Elsa after being dumped by Georg.

so... i almost have the idea in my head that gwen stefani and no doubt wrote this song after watching elsa get the brush from the captain. and i heard it today and had to post it. and i like the concert footage b/c stefani is so intense while our gal is cool as a cucumber (<-- weird american saying... so weird the more i think about it). but still, i can see elsa singing this and then dropping the mic as she strolls off the stage with her head held high. she'd be the talk of the festival.

I just love that song gothicbutterfly95 . I cried when I heard it at the musical. The power that it had on me was overwhelming, hitting me straight in the heart. As for the movie I was a bit disappointed, I like Meryl Streep but somehow it didn't portrait the feeling I had when I watched the musical.

this song is such a break up song and yet it makes me want to rock out... i think elsa would prefer the hall & oates version, too.

Haha, the thread title caught my eye and now I can't stop laughing! My pick: Although this song is before my time (hehe ), I love it! Comes to show how this song stood the test of time.

I made a Elsa inspired playlist, it's mostly all angsty breakup songs. I picture her singing along while she swans about her fancy villa in Vienna with a bottle of champagne in hand.

anna87 I posted that one too, and every time I hear it, I am convinced that the song writer was thinking about Elsa.
