lemacd he would be so pleased that y'all think its so funny! (Its funnier today than it was yesterday!) And he won't tell me how he hacked my phone to change the text tone...I just know that one day in the future he is going to change it to something else when I least expect it.

Well, it finally happened. I outed myself, quite by accident, to the husband! So yesterday I realize that I am late to the PTA meeting at school. I leave the laptop on the bed, open to what I thought was the new health insurance forms from work for my husband to look over when he gets a chance... I kiss the babies, kiss the husband, and tell him he needs to look over the health forms before he falls asleep watching whatever Disney Princess movie the girls choose. I come home and the house is quiet. Wow, I'm impressed everyone is asleep. I get to my room and find the husband with my laptop diligently reading the fine print of the health forms. I'm so pleased. Until I notice that no one smiles like the cat that ate the canary while reading about dental insurance. And that's when he looks up at me and says, "Honey, I'm not sure what insurance company we are switching too but with introductions like this they might be saving money on Viagra...". And the penny drops, and I realize that I must have left my ENTIRE personal Google docs file open instead of my office one...and he's read it all. OMG. I thought I was going to die. But he just laughed at my obvious mortification, said they were "pretty decent" just too bad they where all about SOM and I thought he was going to let me alone... I should have known. The husband is rather fantastic with computers and the like... Sometime last night he managed to change the text tone of my phone when he texts me... It now plays a clip of The Captain saying, "Now when I want you this is what you'll hear" along with the annoying whistle sound. Every time he texted me...which was all day. And he put a password on it and I can't change it. Should I kill him when I get home? I knew y'all would feel my pain! LOL! I'm rather glad it's out now but I foresee weeks of teasing in my future. Weeks...sigh. THAT is THE most wonderful thing I've heard all day!!!!! I'm so happy that your secret is out! Now you can just tell him you need time to write and to take the kids out somewhere!! i'm cheering over here! and I just LOVE that ring tone for your text messages. I want that! But too bad about the teasing. LOL This was the best story ever thebeestings. And proof positive of the something good that can come from all of this stuff. Not to mention that he gets bonus points for the "now when I want you" thing . someone should use that as a story title.

Patrickssong, are you going to update your story soon, Submarine Captains and Horses on the fanfiction website? I'm dying over here to read the next chapter. It's quite good. Love the story! The suspense is killing me, lol. I agree with this patrickssong!

I'll buzz patrickssong and let her know your eagerness. I think she has the next chapter almost done. She told me yesterday she hopes to have it finished by the end of the week.

The .m4r is for iPhones, the .mp3 will work for probably anything else. You're on your own for getting them onto your device, though! Sound of Music.m4r (172.34 KB) Sound of Music.mp3 (80.58 KB)

Now everyone can experience the joy of having this as their text tone...all day long!

I'd do it with just the whistle, I don't know about having his voice as well. I might get a few weird stares from people and then to have to explain that to my husband would probably leave me completely flustered, lol.

I didn't out myself, but I was looking for a thread about the level people choose to out themselves, and stumbled upon this one (which is very entertaining).
Do you tell people (family, friends, coworkers, etc.) that you are a major SOM fan? That you blog about it or write stories about it? Or do you keep it to yourself? On one hand, it isn't something to be ashamed of. There are worse hobbies to have than discussing one of the greatest movies of all time. On the other, it can seem like a strange thing to obsess over. I tend to keep it to myself. I'm not exactly sure why. I guess I like the freedom to say whatever I want here without someone I know in real life judging me for it.
Do you let people read your posts or stories?

Nope, I have only let my son read the first chapter of my first ever story. All three of my kids were/are into fanfiction but none of them like TSOM the way I do. Unless they were looking to find my stories to read (and they don't know my pen name) no one I know in real life has ever read anything.

I'm glad I'm not the only one.
I always have another tab open on my computer so I can quickly switch over if someone comes near me. It's not that I'm ashamed or anything, I just don't want anyone to ask to read my posts or stories or whatever I'm working on. I think that would ruin it for me, if I had to tailor what I was saying so as to not have a negative reaction from others.

I've been in the closet for twelve years, and that's the way it's going to remain!
Not sure why - it's just easier that way, avoiding awkward questions and perhaps a little poking...
It's just a bit of fluff in an otherwise fairly ordered life, a bit of escapism and - well, what man wouldn't be a little jealous of CP?!
It's easier to keep mum 😉

Almost everyone I know, knows I am a huge fan. I had nothing to do with the fact that TSOM was the theme of my retirement party. They don't know about my writing. Only Mr. AA knows about that. And I want to keep it that way.
