Anyone seen this one before? Robert Wise is saying, "It'd look better with your zipper done up"! Responses, please, from the Captain? "It'll save time when we get to the honeymoon." I do have this photo on my tablet as my background photo. Hubby installed in for me, and I didn't even need to ask.

Anyone seen this one before? Robert Wise is saying, "Naval heroes usually do their zippers up!" Responses, please, from the Captain? This picture was the inspiration for "What Is, What Was, and What Shall Be." You can count my story as the response, I suppose. :-)

Found the other watering can shot, with a little Captain hip-action to make it extra yummy Most people in my generation would see a hip-cock as very feminine, and maybe even think that person gay for doing so. So what is it about him cocking his hip that makes it so... interesting? I'll go with that word...

As you say, it's generational. Just like the word "gay".

As you say, it's generational. Just like the word "gay". But I'm not interested in men, so I'm interested in figuring out why people like that sort of thing. Personally, I don't see that as feminine, and usually it would have to be super exaggerated and with other context. A joke with my friends, for example. I sometimes cock my hip to the side, and being trans, it sometimes makes me feel feminine, but if it's actually doing the opposite and giving off another vibe, I would love to know.

Looking at their costumes, I assume this was taken when rehearsing Maria's arrival in the hall. Click to enlarge and see that look of love in Julie's eyes...shame about 'mptv', though!

Found the other watering can shot, with a little Captain hip-action to make it extra yummy This picture makes me laugh so hard! I understand why the kids are watching, there's no other action happening and the watering can is kind of interesting/funny. But EVERY adult is staring her down too! If you saw this happening, wouldn't you politely avert your eyes, knowing that it is kind of inappropriate to watch someone getting their body drenched with water? The woman in blue appears to be taking a close up picture! And don't even get me started on the inner dialogue of the captain. He's wishing the lady in blue would move out of the way.

I too would need a bucket of cold water thrown over me if I was within a 10 mile radius of captain Von Trapp’s cocked hip

It wasn’t that she was getting too dry for the scene. Julies’s inner dialogue: Oh my God, he is so hot. I can’t even remember my lines. “HIT ME WITH THE COLD WATER AGAIN JOHNNY!”

Just so you know we cover EVERY aspect of TSOM film here, I attach a Continuity Photo of Julie having been hit with the cold water again- (I believe these photos were taken as records so that she always looks the same for this scene, particularly when they are filming it over several days): ...and here is the Continuity Pic for CP (with grey temples):

I should think they have some temporary hair dye they use...I guess he wouldn't want it like that when he was off set!

One would think it would be rather difficult to gray hair that is dark brown. At least, when you do it permanently, you have to bleach it first and then you do the coloring, which is just a mess.

Some great ones I've found over the past few weeks: Click on the pictures to enlarge filming the Laendler Julie on the phone I believe this is the filming of the opening scene, as Julie's wearing her habit. Who is that person wearing a white hat in the chair to the right of her? Bob Wise, maybe? CP?

The jacket that's hanging on the chair in front of him, looks like something the Captain wore during the scene where Georg and Maria meet for the first time. I could be wrong though.

Marc Breux the choreographer looks very similar to CP, and often wore white trousers; he might have been checking Julie's steps during the opening song, then collapsed in a heap!

There is grey spray they use. Wat! Where do I find this? Any costume/theatrical supply/beauty shop. Sometimes in a drugstore near other hair color products.

Yes, it will come off. You'd have to ask a hair stylist/colorist for other options.
