Okay who of you wrote that article?!  That gazebo is no Edenesque shelter. It's a temple of seduction. We already knew this In the gazebo, Maria and the Captain sing of their wicked childhoods. The lyrics couch their love as evidence that they once did something good, but they shoot each other so many take-me-now looks that viewers just know they want to do something wicked right now.

Haha, I just stumbled upon this now. Oh dear. As I was reading, "Liesl von Trapp and Rolfe, the young telegraph messenger who will turn out to be a Nazi, begin dancing very slowly. He leads. She follows. Their pace quickens, their dance becoming a dizzying spin around the gazebo. It ends with a thunder clap", I didn't even get to the end of that part and I already knew what direction this was going. Yeah, you know that part. When she steps out of the gazebo, wide-eyed and exhilarated, to let out a "WEE!". I'm pretty sure there's a lot more that one can spot in the movie and interpret it into something sexual  |
