Does anyone know why/when this photo was taken?

Not sure exactly. I would guess around the TSOM stage (so mid 60s), but can't say for certain, and I could be completely wrong. Lovely photo though.

I'm not aware that she ever had red hair at any other time.
The clarity of the photo is wonderful.

It looks like the outfit she's wearing in some of the publicity photos with Chris----the one looking at the postcards in a shop, I think? I could be wrong.

The photo looks overly saturated. Somebody's been playing around with Photoshop. Just look at her fingers and the back of her hand. They look like the same shade as her hair.

Could be, but oversaturation was also a 'thing' back in the sixties. Several of the photos of me as a little tyke were given that treatment. Also in fashion was a sepia tone with a pastel highlighting of eyes, cheeks, lips, and whatever little toy or doll I was holding. And that was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back before photoshop lol

Here is the photo of them looking at postcards; it seems Julie is wearing slightly different clothes to the photo of her on the branch - No matter, I'll take any opportunity to post this photo as they are standing oh, so close together...even touching?

I was looking at some pics of Julie today, and wondering why there aren't any that are more..va va voom. I'm not complaining! I LOVE a classy lady who doesn't need to be revealing for attention. I just wonder why she's like that. She's certainly beautiful enough and famous enough to have had racy photoshoots. Is it just her personality to be more reserved? Did she see herself as a wholesome family friendly movie star and didn't want to tarnish that?

That’s a great question, reverendcaptain, and there are bigger Julie fans here than me who can probably give a better answer, but my understanding has been that she actually was a pretty spicy person and that it isn’t so much that she wants to preserve her wholesome rep (she did a topless scene for her husband) but that her early roles kind of stereotyped her.

I always found the plot of Victor/Victoria rather...improbable?
