Omigosh, what a wonderful article! I was shocked by her waist measurement, yes, even though I thought I'd already come to terms with the fact that she had quite a slim, girlish figure - one has to factor that into Georg's attraction to her (I always snicker at stories that have him loving her "lush curves" and such).

One of my friends pointed out that if you consider the style of the clothes perhaps made her slightly thinner around the waist it might be more realistic to say she was more like 20-22 inches...but still. That's absolutely ridiculous. And yes, it does really make those "lush" descriptions of her amusing, haha.
