*gasps* I've had that song on repeat from as soon as it came out! LOVE LOVE LOVE! You keep making it harder and harder for me to pick a favourite fan video of yours. haha I love the effect with the dices. I think the last bit (from 2:13) is my favourite. Well done! I still need to watch the new Bridget Jones movie as it hasn't even been released here yet, really looking forward to seeing it.

i can never say it enough, i'm forever one of nicky's biggest fanvid fans (well, fan in general, too, of course). i fell in love with this song when i first watched her video for bates and anna... it perfectly sums up why i love that couple and why i love this couple. interestingly, though, the song seems to have a slightly different flavor in each story which is very cool IMO. rock on, nicky.

Thank you, you really are too kind. Its interesting what you said about the two couples bringing a different take on the whole salvation issue. I always felt with Bates and Anna that they were destined to always be doomed, there seemed to be very little hope for them even though Anna stuck by him through thick and thin but with Georg and Maria there always seemed to be that hope. I don't quite know how to express it but I definitely know what you mean about them.

I guess I always think of bates and Anna as saving each other at critical moments in time-- so, quite literally-- and with Georg and Maria, it's more metaphorical... she saved him from grief and he saved her from the wrong path in life. (that puts it too simply... she was adrift, looking for her life, and he helped her find it). The doom vs. hope thing is very valid though, too. I could compare and contrast these two pairings forever. I best stop now.

You are welcome. Also, where are the quotes used in this video from? Because they are beautiful. It's from a poem called "ILove You" but it's unclear who actually wrote the poem originally. From Wikipedia on the origins of this poem and the “poet” named “Roy Croft.” “This poem, which is commonly used in wedding speeches and readings and is quoted frequently (attributed to Roy Croft), is nearly identical in meaning to a German-language poem titled Ich liebe Dich (“I Love You”) and composed by Austrian poet Erich Fried; the main difference is that Croft’s version stops at the third-from-last line of Fried’s poem, with the effect that Fried’s poem contains two final lines for which Croft’s version has no equivalent. Croft’s version appears without further attribution in The Family Book of Best Loved Poems, edited by David L. George and published in 1952 by Doubleday & Company, Inc., then of Garden City, New York. The poem “Love” was included in a 1936 anthology entitled “Best Loved Poems of American People” edited by a Hazel Felleman, and published by Doubleday. This would seem to imply that regardless of the origins of Mr. Croft, that Erich Fried in fact appropriated the poem himself and translated it into German, as he would have been only 15 in 1936. Seeing as the book was a compilation of best loved American poems, it is hard to see how he could be the author.” It has also been attributed to Elizabeth Barret Browning. However, regardless of who wrote it, it's a truly lovely poem.
