Thanks to lemacd for suggesting we try to do this again! It basically involves watching at home while chatting (I think we've concluded FB messenger works best). We've figured out a way to have everyone start at a pretty synchonorized time. Last time, I believe we did this when it was 7 PM in New York, on a Sunday. It's very hard to find a time that works for all of us, scattered around as we are. I'm totally open to changing things up and doing it at a different time. Not sure how far ahead we have to plan, I know December gets busy for folks. Thought maybe sooner? Like November 22 or 29? Write back and share thoughts please! We can post on FB too, but it's easier to track seriously interested participants here.

I'm totally interested. Also like was mentioned on FB, if those enough who are 'Down Under' need a different viewing, more than happy for that! This is SUCH a cool idea

I think both of those days would work for me. Sundays at 7:00 NYC time usually work great. Sounds like fun.

I would love to do it again - it was such FUN last time! Generally it is a good time for me but am dubious as to whether I will be able to partake on either occasion...I will if I can. Go to it!

I'm in. I'll have to check those dates.
@clarinetjamie if you are on Facebook, someone starts a chat and we can just add you into the conversation. You just have to be fb friends with one of us. That's probably as clear as mud.

Both those dates are during my Thanksgiving break so as long as I don't work on the earlier date I'm good. I'm a little hesitant on the facebook thing only because my mom likes to peruse my facebook info and I don't want any weird questions, but I'll work on it

I'd love to join in but I don't think it would ever work time-wise for me. On a different note, I tried to join the FB page but I don't think I've been accepted.

I would love to do it, however, I usually don't go on the computer for long periods of time on the weekend. Also (and please don't laugh at this), I have this weird issue with my mom who always walks into my room (without knocking) to talk to me/see what I'm doing and I don't want her to know that: a) I'm watching TSOM on my laptop when we have a big screen TV downstairs b) I'm watching it while chatting with forum members from across the globe and c) I spend a great deal of time on this forum. LOL she knows that I love TSOM (after all, she was the one who introduced me to it) but I don't want her to know that I'm SUPER obsessed with it. Oh dear. Did I really say that out loud?
I know it may not be as convenient for everyone else, but could we do a weeknight? My mom works in the evening and comes home at around 10 pm EST. So when she comes home, we'll be done the movie.
If a weeknight doesn't work out for everyone, that's fine, I can back out on this one.

We understand, BSS - I am also in the closet and I'm 55!!! Not my Mum I'm concerned about, but now my husband works at home a lot and our kids are staying up later, my chance of keeping my little secret from them is pretty unlikely. I've thought about coming out, but - well- it's just easier to keep quiet!
Oh, and obsessed...yes, isn't it a most wonderful obsession to have...?

You can throw me into that loop too. My husband knows it's my favorite movie, but he doesn't know that I chat about it here with you ladies or that I write fanfiction. I just can't seem to bring myself to come out with it because I know he'll make fun of me relentlessly.

I'm the same. I've had several obsessions over the years and whilst my hubby does know about the videos I make and he knew I used to write stories he doesn't know that I've moved onto TSOM and that I'm writing again. I can't really hide what I draw so he's become used to the fact that my preferred subject is handsome men! Having said that, he did go with me to Port Isaac to watch Doc Martin being filmed and so that I could meet Martin Clunes and he didn't object when I went to London with a friend to see Brendan Coyle (Mr Bates) in a play. He does find things quite funny though and I'm not sure I could come out of the closet about TSOM!

He does seem super nice. My husband knows all. Someday he'll finally have me checked into the asylum but he prefers crazy happy me to crazy moody me.

So, to return to the original topic of this thread, I'm sorry I dropped the ball, and now we are past those Sunday nights. I'm going to start again, with a poll.

Um... Life's getting a bit busy at the moment and as much as I want to sit down and spend 3 hours watching my favourite movie, i have so much writing that uh, needs to be completed by Christmas that I think I need to use those 3 hours to write instead (which will benefit everyone in the long run, trust me...). Maybe in the New Year?

i have so much writing that uh, needs to be completed by Christmas that I think I need to use those 3 hours to write instead That's pretty much a summary of myself. I'm a massive procrastinator that I would write half a sentence, do a historical accuracy check on Google and boom! I end up on Google images looking at pictures of puppies. I honestly don't know how I got through university
