Gosh, reading your attachments tells me those scenes were amazingly mixed up!

The last page of the film schedule. OMG reverendcaptain thanks for taking the time to post this, it's gold to me. I will look for some books about TSOM as @indigoblue says too :-) And the best film editing goes to... TSOM! šš

missisa if you look in the General Section at the bottom of the board, under Books/Memoirs, you will find the titles of a number of books about TSOM. There are also others, most notably the Kids' Scrapbook.

Gosh, reading your attachments tells me those scenes were amazingly mixed up! Yes! It's got to be hard to get married months before you meet! haha.

Yesssss but jokes apart, reverendcaptain, the emotion from the wedding scene (not only the music, lighting, etc.), but the faces and expressions, from the mother abbess on the other side of the gate,to Liesl's smile as she watches Maria dressed as a bride until, of course, that climax in which the Captain takes her hand at the altar, well, it can only be due to two things: the magic of the cinema (and the editing) and the performances from everybody, no matter the order of the story (how basic this for an actor and yet to me it's mind-blowing when I think about it haha).

I know there is talk about how much weight he gained in Austria because of the rich food and alcohol, but I really don't notice it. The wedding is the first scene they shot in Austria (so, before the weight gain). Meeting the children was after they came back to LA (so, after the weight gain). Does he look different?

Not really to me, tbh. Maybe the jacket a little tighter at the center buttons but definitely not like Orson Welles š¤£š¤£š¤£

I've always thought he looks a bit porky in the hall - his suit is too tight at the waist.
He looks slimmer on the terrace when they first arrive back from Vienna, and in the gazebo (not sure if these were the first scenes shot).

Well, that's not fair. The light suit with green lapels from the fight scene just fits him like a glove... and the gazebo suit is so stylized, but do you really think G looks "porky" in the hall scene??? No way ššš i like porky men, then! lol

I think bringing this information up in this thread makes sense This is the ranking of posts referring to the characters: - Georg: 1109 posts
- Maria: 360
- Elsa: 339
- Children: 220
- Frau Schmidt: 108
I found this very funny, there are definitely many of us interested in Plummer and the love triangle

How do you think Georg maintains his physique? Military type exercises - pushups, pullups, etc.? This seems to fit with his personality more than running or biking I would think. Does he wake up early to exercise before breakfast?

Does he wake up early to exercise before breakfast?Ā I feel like intentional fitness activities with the very different back then but Iām not sure how I'm sure that he exercised by doing things like push-ups, sit-ups, and even running, but I also imagine him being a rower since he likes the water. People back then still did these types of exercises. I imagine that he would wake up early in the mornings to exercise. He seems like an early riser.

Maybe he swims across the lake - before breakfast, of course!

Does anyone else love that Georg is carrying Gretl on his back over the mountains at the end? It certainly shows his physical strength, but also it shows that he's a caring father, which I find to be very attractive. Plus, there's just something about watching him blazing the trail, with his hat slightly askew, and his lopsided smile as he looks out over Switzerland - I don't know, it just does it for me.
Were we taking about this in another thread at one point? I thought so, but I can't find it.
