I'd like to go back to this picture... Over and over and over again! But I transgress!  It was mentioned on the FB page. I got to wondering about what exactly they were rehearsing. I'm assuming it was the Gazebo scene because they didn't actually have their ARMS WRAPPED AROUND EACH OTHER when they danced the Ländler. Also, I think at this point in the Gazebo scene they were standing in the middle and were about to snog ( all too briefly if you ask me!) So, no wonder she is staring into his eyes like a lovesick puppy... She knows what's coming... Lucky woman! |

I thought I'd seen the picture on this board before...but anyway, can't hurt to repost great pictures (hence I have it as my avatar). Here's a better quality version:  I once saw the description on an Instagram post stating it was form a Ländler rehearsal, but then I also thought to myself "They didn't dance like THAT in the Ländler." So probably more likely to be a Gazebo rehearsal, but like blaueaugen already pointed out, who says they're actually rehearsing?! That could be how they greeted each other daily. lol |

Something in favour of it being a Laendler rehearsal is the fact that Marc (forgotten surname - French) the choreographer is the one standing with his back to us (I'm pretty sure). Don't think he would be there for the gazebo scene as there wasn't any dancing - or are choreographers used in every scene?

Choreographers often stage movement in musical numbers that don't include actual dancing.

It makes me grin like an idiot too and I'm now thinking (or hoping) that they had just finished rehearsing the Ländler and decided to improvise and do what we all feel they should have done in the movie! Honestly I don't think there is anything in this movie that CP doesn't look good in and Julie can rock all of those dresses, even the drab one, lol, but yes, that dress is exquisite and she looks gorgeous.

In which case this must be them going through the script for the dinner scene, as they are all sitting in the right order; presumably Robt Wise is reading Maria's part?
The kids looking murderous in the 5th photo must be when they were told to 'look like naughty children' for when Maria arrived! Great unearthing!
